How to Avoid Unnecessary Repairs
Bending Section

• Stacking endoscopes
• Excessive manual pressure
• Reprocessing with sharp objects
What you can do:
• One scope in sink / basin at a time
• No excessive pressure when grasping
• Don’t transport, reprocess or store accessories with endoscopes
Insertion Tube / Light Guide / Distal Tip
Bends and Crimps
Cause:
• Sink / basin too small
Cuts and Holes
Cause:
• Stacking endoscopes
• Reprocessing with sharp objects
• Vigorous cleaning of distal tip
• Poor packaging of endoscope in transport case
What you can do:
• Adequate sized sinks / basins – no stacking
• Don’t transport, reprocess or store accessories with endoscopes
• Carefully clean and handle bending section distal tip
• Careful correct placement of endoscope in transport case
Air / Water Channel
Clogging
Cause:
• Not using fresh detergent solution each time
• Deletion of channel cleaning adapters
• Deletion of A / W nozzle brushing
