9.1 Troubleshooting guide
Error messages
Problem Display Possible cause Remedy
A message
appears when
scope is
inserted into
high-
temperature
observation
object.
High
Temperature
around scope.
Withdraw scope
immediately.
The message is informing
you that the self-check
function was triggered to
prompt termination of
inspection.
Immediately pull the scope
out of the observation object.
(Note)
Message will appear before
the atmospheric temperature
of the distal end of the scope
reaches the operating
maximum ambient
temperature.
Message
display when
the optical
adapter is
attached.
UNKNOWN
OPTICAL
ADAPTER IS
ATTACHED.
The optical adapter type is
not being detected
correctly.
Clean the electrodes and
then attach the optical
adapter again (see “3.7
Inspecting the optical
adapter” (page 51)).
Message
display during
inspection.
OPTICAL
ADAPTER IS
DETACHED.
The attached optical
adapter is loose.
Stop inspection and securely
reattach the optical adapter.
ERROR (AD1)
Please shut
down the power
and clean the
electrodes of
optical adapter
and scope distal
end.
An abnormality was
detected in the scope tip
electrode or optical adapter
electrode.
Immediately withdraw the
scope from the object of
observation and turn the
power off. Clean the scope
tip and optical adapter
electrodes, and then reinstall
the optical adapter. See “3.5
Inspecting the scope” (page
39) and “3.7 Inspecting the
optical adapter” (page 51).
The light
emitted by the
scope will not
increase.
ILLUMINATION
CANNOT BE
INCREASED.
The distal end of the scope
is hot.
Wait until the scope distal
end cools before using it.
Message

the light
emitted by the
scope is
increased.
ILLUMINATION
RETURNED TO
NORMAL.
The distal end of the scope
is hot.
Wait until the scope distal
end cools before using it.
