Chapter 5 Menu operations and functions
Format recording card/internal memory/USB memory
Format recording media such as recording cards (CF cards), internal memory or
USB memory. Note that formatting a recording card deletes all images and
folders previously recorded on the recording card, internal memory or USB
memory.
CAUTION
• Never remove the recording card or USB memory during formatting.
1 Display the thumbnail screen and then open the drive you want to
format.
2 Press the [MENU/EXIT] button to display the menu.
3 Select “FORMAT” and push the [MEAS/ENTER] joystick.
The “FORMAT DISK” window is displayed.
4 Select “OK” and press the [MEAS/ENTER] joystick to start
formatting.
• Depending on the capacity and type of CF card, internal memory or USB
memory used, the formatting operation can last for several seconds to
minutes.
• After formatting, a folder numbered 100 is created automatically in the
recording card, internal memory or USB memory.
• The display may not show “100%” remaining capacity for the media.
