Problem Cause and recommended action
The system cannot be
turned ON.
The AC adapter or the battery is not connected.
Connect the AC adapter or the battery correctly (see “3-3 Preparing the
power supply” (page27)).
The power is not turned ON.
Set the [POWER] button (
) of the main unit to ON.
A non-designated AC adapter or battery is connected.
Use the designated AC adapter or battery.
The scope unit is not attached to the main unit correctly.
Attach the scope unit to the main unit properly.
The system cannot be
turned OFF.
The main unit is damaged.
Remove the AC adapter or the battery from the main unit and turn OFF the
power.
The image is not sharp. The objective lens of the distal end of the insertion tube or the optical adapter
is dirty.
Wipe with a clean piece of gauze or a cotton swab.
The optical adapter is not attached correctly.
Attach the optical adapter properly.
The image sharpness is not adjusted appropriately.
Adjust the image sharpness appropriately (see “4 Adjusting the image
sharpness” (page 70)).
The external monitor is not adjusted appropriately.
Adjust the external monitor appropriately.
The image brightness is
not optimal.
The objective lens of the distal end of the insertion tube or the optical adapter is
dirty, or the illumination on the optical adapter is dirty.
Wipe with a clean piece of gauze or a cotton swab.
The automatic brightness control is not set appropriately.
Use the [BRT] button
to adjust to the proper setting.
The external monitor is not adjusted appropriately.
Adjust the external monitor appropriately.
The optical adapter is loose.
Attach the optical adapter properly (see “3-5 Attaching and removing the
optical adapter” (page30)).
Color reproduction is poor. The white balance is not set properly.
Adjust white balance again.
The image color is not adjusted appropriately.
Adjust the image color appropriately (see “5 Adjusting the image saturation”
(page 70)).
