3.3 Connection of the foot switch
• When the electrosurgical unit is turned ON and the foot
switch is short-circuited, an alarm will sound and the output
setting indicators will display “FL” and “FS” as shown in
Figure 3.1. In this case, replace it with a new foot switch.

• Connect the foot switch plug securely to the PSD-30.
Otherwise, high-frequency output may not activated. In this
case, the electrosurgical accessory could cut the tissue
mechanically, which could cause bleeding and/or perforation
to the patient.
Before connecting, confirm that the foot switch plug is free of scratches and
cracks and that the foot switch pedals are not damaged. With the arrow on the
plug facing upward, insert the foot switch plug into the foot switch connector on
the rear panel of the electrosurgical unit, and rotate the fastener ring fully
clockwise to tighten it (see Figure 3.2).
