Chapter 6 Care, Inspection, Storage and Maintenance
6.1 Care
1. Clean the mobile workstation with a soft cloth or gauze moistened with aqueous neutral
detergent, then wipe over with a cloth dampened with 70% alcohol.
• Should the equipment become soiled with blood or other potentially
infectious materials, first wipe off all gross debris and then
decontaminate the equipment with a soft gauze cloth using Aqueous
Neutral Detergent followed by 70% alcohol, otherwise blood, mucus and
other potentially infectious material from the patient could pose an
infection risk. Confirm that the equipment is completely dry before use.
• Use personal protective equipment to guard against dangerous
chemicals and potentially infectious material, otherwise, blood, mucus
and other potentially infectious material from the patient could pose an
infection risk. During cleaning, wear appropriate protective equipment,
such as eye wear, face mask, moisture-resistant clothing and chemical-
resistant gloves that fit properly and are long enough so that your skin is
not exposed.
• The use of strong disinfectants and/or non-aqueous neutral detergent
may cause corrosion to the workstation paint work, causing paint to lift
and surface rust to form.
The workstation and its ancillary components have been chemically
verified to withstand the following cleaning agents:
Use of cleaning chemicals not listed above should be checked with your
Olympus service center prior to use.
• Do not allow any fluids into contact with electrical equipment installed on
the mobile workstation.

workstation.
• Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly dried before reusing the mobile
