Overview

The H5S Digital Time Switch is a versatile and user-friendly device designed for precise time-based control in various applications. It offers a range of features for easier setup, convenient operation, and effective maintenance.

Function Description

The H5S Time Switch allows for the scheduling of output operations based on different control cycles: weekly and yearly. It supports both 2-circuit and 4-circuit output models, catering to diverse control needs. The device can execute ordinary timer operations, pulse-output operations, and cyclic operations.

Ordinary Timer Operation: This function enables the user to set specific ON and OFF times for the output over a weekly or yearly period. For weekly models, operations can be scheduled for individual days or multiple days, allowing for continuous ON or OFF states between specified start and end days. Yearly models extend this capability to an annual calendar, with an integrated calendar up to 2099.

Pulse-output Operation: This feature allows the output to turn ON for a fixed, user-defined period (pulse width) at a set ON time. The pulse width can be set in increments of seconds or minutes, offering flexibility for applications requiring momentary activation.

Cyclic Operation: The H5S can repeatedly turn outputs ON and OFF during a specified period, from a cyclic start time to a stop time. Both ON and OFF times can be set independently, making it suitable for recurring tasks.

Automatic Program Switching by Seasons (Yearly Models): For yearly models, the device can automatically change its weekly program based on the season. Up to four seasons can be set for 4-circuit models, and up to two seasons for 2-circuit models, ensuring optimal operation throughout the year without manual adjustments.

Bank Switching (Weekly Models): This function allows two groups (banks) of programs to be registered and switched by an external input. This is useful for scenarios where different operational modes are required and can be triggered externally.

Day Override Operation (Weekly Models): This feature enables the temporary execution of one day's operation on another day within a 7-day period, starting from the current day. This is useful for temporary schedule changes without altering the main program.

Summertime (DST) Adjustment: The H5S includes a summer time (Daylight Saving Time) adjustment function. Yearly models offer automatic switching to DST, while weekly models allow for manual adjustment of the current time by +1 hour.

Manual Operation on Recovery from Power Failure: After power is restored, the H5S can be configured to stop turning ON output until an external input is applied, providing a safety measure for critical applications.

Usage Features

The H5S Time Switch is designed for ease of use with several convenient features:

Simple Setting:

  • Independent Day Keys: These keys simplify the process of setting schedules for specific days.
  • Temporary Holiday Setting: Users can easily turn OFF output for holidays or non-operating days without altering the main program. The setting is automatically cleared after the holiday has passed.
  • Settings without Power ON: Programs can be configured even when the Time Switch is turned OFF, enhancing convenience and safety during setup.
  • Up/Down Set Value Changing: Set values can be adjusted both upward and downward, allowing for speedier setting.
  • Test Mode: A dedicated test mode facilitates easy program checking, ensuring correct operation before deployment.
  • Program Check Function: This function consecutively displays the days and times when the output is set to turn ON and OFF over the course of one week, allowing for thorough verification of the schedule.
  • Checking the Settings: Users can check the settings for a specific day or for the entire week, ensuring accuracy.

Display and Interface:

  • Digital LCD Display: The device features a clear LCD display with a character height of 10 mm, showing the current time, operation schedule, and other relevant information.
  • 12-hour/24-hour Display Switching: The current time can be displayed in either 12-hour (AM/PM) or 24-hour format.
  • Display Switching for Content: The displayed content can be switched to show total elapsed time, total input count, or next operation information.
  • Timing Chart Display: The operation schedule is visually represented as a timing chart, making it easy to understand.
  • Shaded Portion Indicators: Blinking shaded portions on the display guide the user through setting modes and indicate active functions.

Time Accuracy:

  • Integrated Temperature Compensation Circuit (Yearly Models): Yearly models are equipped with a temperature compensation circuit that maintains accurate timekeeping over a wide temperature range, minimizing time lags regardless of ambient temperature changes.
  • Time Adjustment Input Function: The time can be precisely set to 00 minutes 00 seconds using an external input, allowing for easy synchronization of multiple Time Switches.

Maintenance Features

The H5S Time Switch incorporates features that aid in maintenance and monitoring:

Time Counter/Total Counter Functions:

  • Time Counter: This function monitors the total elapsed time that a load has been applied, providing valuable data for maintenance scheduling.
  • Total Counter: It tracks the total number of operating cycles (external inputs), which is useful for managing the lifespan of connected equipment.
  • Alarm Indicator: An alarm indicator is included to alert users when a set alarm value for the time counter or total counter is exceeded, prompting timely maintenance.

Memory Protection:

  • Long-term Memory: The device retains settings for a minimum of 5 years (at 25°C) even without power, ensuring program integrity over extended periods.

These features make the H5S Digital Time Switch a reliable and efficient solution for various time control applications, offering both advanced functionality and user-friendly operation.
