9.4 Installation on the LD-250
WARNING: MAGNETIC FIELD - MEDICAL IMPLANT RISK
Magnetic fields can be hazardous to medical implant wearers. Medical
Implant wearers should stay at least 30 cm (12 inches) away from the under-
side of the LD-250, which is exposed during certain maintenance procedures.
When cabling the HAPS sensors, refer to the LD-250 User's Guide (Cat. No. I642) for instructions
that describe how to remove and replace skins, the battery, and other components.
Required resources are:
l Two people to lift the LD-250 onto its side.
l 4 mm hex driver for M5 socket head cap screws.
l Small zip ties for cabling.
l Self-adhesive zip tie mounts (dual HAPS, rear sensor only).
l Blanket or padding to protect the LD-250 from damage.
l Straps or other method of securing the LD-250 safely while tipped on its side.
l Single or dual HAPS sensor kit.
If you are installing dual sensors, you also require the supplied splitter cables that provide
power to both sensor assemblies.
Preparing the LD-250 to Install HAPS Sensors
Prepare the LD-250 so that you can tip it on its side. This might require removing the payload
or the top cover skin, if installed. You must remove the E-Stop button from one side of the LD-
250 to prevent damage to the button.

Remove the front upper skin and the left and right side skins. (See: LD-250 User's Guide
(Cat. No. I642)).

Remove the battery. (See: LD-250 User's Guide (Cat. No. I642)).
3.
On one side of the AMR, remove the E-Stop button from its bracket as shown in Figure
9-10. Use your fingers or a flat-blade screwdriver to gently spread the prongs on the rear
side of the E-Stop (A) and remove the E-Stop latch button (B) from the switch body (C).
4.
Unscrew the threaded locking ring (D) and remove the button from the AMR. Leaving
all cabling in place.
