Folding seat backrests
Lift release lever on outboard side of
backrest and fold seat backrest forwards.
To move upright, lift release lever, move
seat b ackrest backwards and audibly
enga ge.
Three-stage restraint system
Comprising:
z Three-point seat belts,
z Belt tensioners,
z Airbag systems for driver and passeng er.
The three stag es are a ctivated in sequence
depending on the seriousness of the
accident:
z The automa tic seat belt locking devices
prevent the belt strap from being pulled
out and thus ensure that the vehicle
occupants are retained in their seats.
z The seat belts are pulled down at the
belt buckles. This mak es the belts fit
snugly, the occupants are decelerated
together with the vehicle, and the body
is su bje cted to less stre ss .
z The airbag systems a re also triggered in
th e ev en t of s eriou s accide nts an d form a
safety cushion for the occupants.
Depending on the severity of the
accident, the airbags inflate
in two stages.
9 Warnin g
The airbag systems are supplementary
to the three-point seat belts and belt
tensioners, and the seat belts must
therefore always be worn. Disregarding
these instructions may lead to injuries or
endanger life. Vehicle passengers should
be informed accordingly.
