Turn signals
Control indicator flashes in green.
The relevant control indicator fla shes when
the turn signal is on. Both control indic ators
flash with the hazard warning lamps on.
Rapid fla shing: Failure of a turn signal
lamp or associated fuse.

Headlamp hig h beam
Control indicator illum inates in blue.
Illuminates when high b eam is on and
during headla mp flash – see pages 13, 74.
Z
Exhaust emissions
Control indica tor illuminates or flashes in
yellow.
Illum inates when the ignition is switched on
and goes out shortly after the engine has
starte d.
If it illum inates when the engine is running:
Fault in emission control system.
The permitted emission limits may
be e xce ed ed. Consult a work shop.
If it flashes when the engine is running:
Fault that can lead to d estruction of the
catalytic converter – see page 116.
Consult a workshop immediately.
R
Brake system, clutch system
Control indicator illuminates or flashes in
red.
Illuminates when the ig nition is switched on
if th e hand b ra ke is app lie d or if the b ra ke/
clutch fluid level is too low.
Flashes at speeds over 8 km/h (5 mph) if
hand brake is app lied.
Release hand brake before continuing
journey, to avoid overheating and
dam aging the brake system.

9 Warnin g
If it illuminates when the hand brake is
not applied: Stop the vehicle; interrupt
your journey immediately. Consult a
workshop.
