Using Core Application
Chapter 2
Dispatcher Activities
Here are some of the reasons for which you want to move activities from resources back to the bucket:
• A resource called in sick and you have already assigned a route to the resource.
• A resource is assigned activities that might place them in an overtime situation.
• An activity is in jeopardy after routing.
• A resource requested a particular day off, but the calendar does not reflect it as a non-working day and a route
has already been assigned to the resource.

Overview of the Assignment Assistant
You can use the Assignment Assistant to move activities.
You also can access the Assignment Assistant in the Dispatch Console, only if you have selected the Use Assignment
Assistant on Dispatch Console setting in the Activity Management section on the User Types page. On the User
Types page, you can use these settings to define the behavior of the Assignment Assistant page:
• Allow move between resources
• Allow activity move from non-scheduled pool to scheduled one
• Allow access to non-scheduled pool
• Allow activity reorder inside the route
• Allow activity reschedule / move to non-scheduled pool
Note: You cannot use the Assignment Assistant to move segmentable activities. The Assignment Assistant does
not support the visit function.
This table describes how you can configure and use the Assignment Assistant.

Understand the Assignment Assistant User Interface
The Assignment Assistant is divided into two pages: Main page and Route details page. The Main page lists all the
resources and buckets eligible to receive the activities, whereas the Route details page lists the route of a specific
resource.
