How to Install a PCIe Card

Prepare the server for service. See

Remove the air duct. See

If necessary, pull open the locking latch on the rear panel of the server to unlock the PCIe ller
panel.
Remove the ller panel by lifting it straight up and out of the server.
If a PCIe riser is not already installed in the server, install a PCIe riser. See
“How to Install the PCIe
Riser”on page 42
.
The PCIe riser is a low-prole, half-length x16 connector card.
