MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
REPLACING THE BAR
AND CHAIN
CAUTION: THIS CHAINSAW HAS
BEEN DESIGNED TO BE USED WITH
POWERSHARP® SAW CHAIN AND
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND USING
ONLY POWERSHARP® SAW CHAIN
WHEN REPLACING THE SAW CHAIN.
IF YOU REPLACE POWERSHARP®
CHAIN WITH ANOTHER CHAIN
TYPE, REMOVE THE SHARPENING
STONE FROM THE POWERSHARP®
INTEGRATED SHARPENER. FAILURE
TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DAMAGE
TO THE CHAIN AND/OR SHARPENING
STONE.
Wear gloves. With the chainsaw off and
coolandthebatterypackremoved,
remove the side cover by loosening the
sidecoverknob(Fig.23).Makesurethe
barpad,sprocket,andtensioningscrew
arefreeofdebris.
NOTE:Thisisagoodtimetoinspectthe
drivesprocketandtensioningscrewfor
excessive wear or damage.
Installthenewbarandchainasfollows:

•Adjustthetensioningpinasfarback
towardstherearofthesawasitwillgo.
Place the guide bar on the mounting
pad,byslidingthebarslotoverthe
alignmentange(thelong,raised
portionofthebarpadholdingthe
mountingstud)(Fig.24),makingsure
thebaradjustingpinisinsertedinthe
bottomholeinthetailofthebar.

•Feedthechainintothegrooveofthe
barandslidethebarawayfromthe
motortoremoveslackfromthechain
(Fig.25).Adjustthepositionofthebar
adjustingpinuntilitengagesthehole
in the bar.
