GENERAL SAFETY RULES
PERSONAL SAFETY
•Stayalert,watchwhatyouare
doing and use common sense when
operatingthechainsaw.Donotusethe
chainsaw while you are tired or under
theinuenceofdrugs,alcohol,or
medication.Amomentofinattention
whileoperatingthechainsawmay
resultinseriouspersonalinjury.
•Usepersonalprotectiveequipment.
Alwaysweareyeprotection.Protective
equipmentsuchasadustmask,non-
skidsafetyshoes,hardhat,orhearing
protectionusedforappropriate
conditionswillreducepersonal
injuries.Neverwearshortswhen
operatingthechainsaw.Alwayswear
longpantsorchaps.
•Dressproperly.Donotwearloose
clothingorjewelry.Keephair,clothing,
andglovesawayfrommovingparts.
Looseclothes,jewelry,orlonghaircan
becaughtinmovingparts.
•Preventunintentionalstarting.Make
sure the trigger switch is in the off
positionandthetriggerlock-outisnot
pressedbeforeconnectingtopower
sourceand/orbatterypack,picking
up,orcarryingthetool.Carryingthe
chainsawwithngeronthetrigger
switch invites accidents.
•Theworkpiece,bar,andchaincanbe
hotaftercutting.Wearglovestoavoid
burns.
•Removeanyadjustingtoolbefore
operatingthechainsaw.Atoolleft
attachedtoorneararotatingpartof
thechainsawmayresultinpersonal
injury.
•Usetwohandswhenoperatingthe
chainsaw.
•Donotoverreach(Fig.1).Keepproper
footingandbalanceatalltimes.This
enablesbettercontrolofthechainsaw
inunexpectedsituations.

•Prolongeduseofpowertoolshas
beenreportedtocausevascular,
muscular, or neurological disorders. To
reducetheriskofinjury,followthese
instructions:
– Wearsglovesandkeephands
and body warm.
– Maintainarmgriponthe
chainsaw, but do not use
prolonged,excessivepressure.
– Takefrequentbreaks.
