7.3 CARE AND CLEANING OF THE VACUUM PACKER
ELECTRIC HAZARD!
Danger of electric shock ! Remove the machine plug from the power socket. Do not use water or steam jets.
DANGER! Danger of burns: if alcohol-based or inflammable disinfectant products are used, ventilate the area. Do not use
naked flames near the machine! Do not smoke!
ATTENTION! Danger of injury! Use personal protective equipment. Do not use caustic products, acid or aggressive products
such as muriatic acid. Read the instructions on the detergent product or disinfectant pack carefully.
WARNINGS! Use alcohol-based disinfectants.
The machine must be cleaned and disinfected every time after use.
7.3.1 CLEANING THE SEALING PLATE
Danger of burns! Wear heat-resistant safety gloves and clothing!
Keep alcohol-based detergents and other inflammable products far away from the machine.
For cleaning the sealing plate correctly and removing encrustation, if any, AVOID USING ABRASIVE SPONGES, SHARP TOOLS OR
EQUIPMENT as this can damage the Teflon coating on the plate, making the film stick to the plate during the sealing phase.
1) Switch the machine on.
2) Regulate the temperature of the sealing head to a temperature between 70 and 80°C (Fig. 1).
3) Wear heat-resistant safety gloves and clothing to proceed with cleaning the plate using an abrasive sponge dipped in cold potable water.
Let the water evaporate. Repeat the operations until the plate is totally free of all residua and encrustation.
4) When cleaning is complete, before switching off the machine, remember to adjust the thermostat again to the sealing temperature set earlier.
If cleaning is not satisfactory, causing defective film sealing, contact an authorized service centre.
7.3.2 CLEANING THE MACHINE
1) Switch the appliance off by means of the on/off main switch and remove the plug from the power socket.
2) Spray an alcohol-based disinfectant solution on all the steel surfaces of the machine. Do not spray the product on the electrical parts or in the
machine’s air vents.
3) Leave the disinfectant to act for a few minutes.
4) Wipe with a cloth dipped in potable water, then dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
