Ifit’s necessary to select a power supply cord-set fortheOustersuppliedpowersupply, it should be
safetycertifiedbyatesthouseacceptabletothelocalregionofuse,suppliedwithanIEC60320,Type
C6 cord connector to matewiththe power supply anda plug for connection toanACoutletwith an
earthingcontact/pin.
EnvironmentalRatings
AllInterfaceBoxesaresuitableforuseindoorsonlyinclean,protectedenvironmentsattemperatures
between -20 °C and +50 °C. Interface Boxes are not designed for use outdoors or in environments
thatarenotprotectedfromdust,moisture,orhighhumidity.
8 GPS/GNSSSynchronizationGuide
This guide will explain how to physically connect a GPS to your Ouster sensor and synchronize the
OustersensortimestamptoanNMEAsentence.
8.1 SettingupyourGPS/GNSS
ItisimportanttoensureyouhaveconfiguredyourGPSaccordingtothemanufacturersspecifications.
TheOustersensoracceptsthefollowing:
NMEAsentencetype: GPRMC only(futuresupportforothersentencetypes)
BaudRates: 9600 or115200
Polarity: NormalorReversed(ACTIVE_HIGH

Voltage: 3.3 - 15 V logicwithaminimumdrivecurrentof5 mA.
IfyourGPScan’tmeettheseminimumsyouwillneedtobufferthevoltagewithanadditional

Note: Once you have configured your GPS, it is good practice to verify the signals using an oscil-
loscope. This will ensure you have the correct baud rate, polarity, voltage, and message type being
output.
