Troubleshooting
Question Measure
When the
administrator
password is
forgotten.
Log on to Windows with other user account and delete password you
forgotten.
1 Click
(Start) -[Control Panel] - [Add or remove user accounts].
If [User Account Control] is displayed, click [Yes].
A standard user needs to enter an administrator password.
2 Click the user account which you forgotten the password and click [Remove
the password], then click [Remove Password].
If you don’t create other user account, you need to reinstall Windows. When you
reinstall Windows, the hard disk data will be erased.
If you have created a password reset disk, a message is displayed when you
fail to correctly enter the password. Follow the message’s instructions and
set the password again.
You cannot change the supervisor password and user password by using a
password reset disk. Do not forget your supervisor password and user password.
Perform the following to create a password reset disk.
1 Click
(Start) - [Control Panel] - [User Accounts and Family Safety] and
click [User account].
2 Click [Create a password reset disk].
Follow the on-screen instructions and save the password reset disk for
future use.
Windows does
not start up
and numbers or
messages appear.
This is a system startup error. Refer to “Error Message” (
page 89) .
If “Remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart” is displayed:
