Taking Pictures with the Zoom
Applicable modes:
You can zoom-out to record landscapes etc. in wide angle (Wide) or zoom-in to make
people and objects appear closer (Tele).
Zooms in without deteriorating the image quality.
Maximum magnification: 16k
This function works when any of the picture sizes (P36) indicated with is selected.
You can zoom in further than you can with the Optical Zoom without deteriorating the image quality.
Maximum magnification: 32k
Applicable modes:
You can zoom in up to twice the original zoom magnification while minimising the
deterioration of the image quality.
With the manual ring With the zoom lever
1 Set the manual ring selector switch to
[ZOOM].
2 Rotate the manual ring.
Be careful not to accidentally switch the
O.I.S. switch or manual ring selector switch
when you rotating the manual ring.
Rotate the zoom lever.
The smaller the rotation angle is, the slower
the zoom speed becomes; the greater the
rotation angle is, the faster the zoom speed
becomes.
