Taking Pictures
(Program mode), (Shutter Priority mode) and (Manual
Exposure mode) allow you to take pictures with various aperture and
shutter speed settings (Exposure modes).
Effect of Aperture and Shutter Speed
There are many correct combinations of shutter speed and aperture for
a particular subject. Different combinations produce different effects on
a picture.
Using the Exposure Mode and Other Functions
Program
Sets shutter speed and aperture automatically for proper exposure.
Shutter Priority
Set shutter speed manually. Aperture is set automatically.
Manual
Exposure
Set both shutter speed and aperture manually.
Slower shutter
speed
The shutter remains open for a longer time. If the subject is moving,
the image will be blurred while the shutter is open, thus enhancing the
effect of motion.
Faster shutter
speed
The shutter remains open for a shorter time. It allows freezing the
action of a moving subject.
Smaller aperture
value
Decreases the amount of light which enters through the lens.
Higher aperture
value
Increases the amount of light which
enters
through the lens.
