engine damage.
This engine h
as a comprehensive, programmable
Engine Monitoring System. The Engine Control
Module (ECM) has the ability to monitor the engine
operating c
onditions. If any of the engine parameters
extend outside an allowable range, the ECM will
initiate an immediate action.
The following actions are available for engine
monitoring control: WARNING, ACTION ALERT, and
SHUTDOWN.
Many of the parameters that are monitored by the
ECM can be p
rogrammed for the engine monitoring
functions. The following parameters can be monitored
as a part of the Engine Monitoring System:
Atmospheric Pressure
Intake Man
ifold Air Pressure
Coolant Temperature
Engine Oil Pressure
Crankshaf
tPosition
Camshaft Position
Fuel Temperature
Intake Ma
nifold Temperature
System Voltage
The Engine Monitoring package can vary for different
engine models and different engine applications.
However,
the monitoring system and the engine
monitoring control will be similar for all engines.
