Fuel System Secondary Filter - Replace

2. Remove the drain plug (1). Allow the fuel to drain
from the fi
lter. Check the O ring seal on the drain
plug for damage . If necessary, replace the O ring.

e secondary filter bowl (2) from the
assembly. Remove the filter element and the O
ring seal. Discard both items. Clean the filter bowl.

element for the secondary fuel filter is
different from the element for the primary fuel filter.
Ensure that the correct elements are installed into
the fuel syste
m.
4. Ensure that the insert (4) is the same shape as
the tab (3).
5. Align the insert to the tab and install the element
into the filte
rbowl.

6. Install a new O ring seal (5). Lubricate the threads
on the bowl assembly with CV60889 Special
Lubricant.
7. Install the bowl assembly. Tighten the bowl
assembly to a torque of 80 N·m (59 lb ft). Install
the drain plug and tighten to the following torque
1.2N·m(11lbin).
8. Turn the valves for the fuel lines (if equipped) to
the ON position. Prime the fuel system. Refer to
the Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Fuel
System - Prime” for more information.
9. Remove the split fuel and dispose of the fuel
safely.
10. Operate the engine and check for fuel leaks.
