12.05.13 Needle thread tension release
Requirement
1. When the hand lever is raised, there should be a distance of at least 0.5 mm between
the tension discs 4.
2. When the presser foot is touching the needle plate, the tension must be fully effective.
ā Unscrew tension carrier plate 1 and align the pressure plate 2 in accordance with the
requirement.
The clearance of 0.5 mm is a minimum value and can increase to more than
1 mm when thick threads are being used.
If the tension is correct, release pin 3 should not be under pressure.
