Standard sewing
Set lever 1 and 2 at the same value. The
top and bottom feed dogs operate with
the same feed stroke (see Fig. 9-06a).
Top fullness
Set lever 1 at a higher value than lever 2.
The top feed dog applies fullness to the
top material ply (see Fig. 9-06 b.) On
machines with subclass -918/14 lever 3
is used to limit a second top feed value.
It is possible to change from one value to
the other by using the knee switch. The
display 4 on the machine head shows
whether the machine is operating with
standard value or fullness.
Green = standard value
White = fullness
Stretching the top material ply
Set lever 1 at a lower value than lever 2.
The top material ply is stretched
(see 9-06 c).
