Overview

The Philips EasyKey 7000 series Smart Video Door Lock DDL702 is an advanced security device designed to provide convenient and secure access to your home. It combines multiple unlocking methods with smart features, including video intercom and remote monitoring, to enhance your home security experience.

Function Description

The Philips EasyKey DDL702 serves as a comprehensive smart door lock system. Its primary function is to secure your door while offering various methods for unlocking and locking. It supports both general mode, allowing unlocking with any registered identity information, and dual verification mode, which requires two separate forms of identification (PIN code + Fingerprint) for enhanced security.

The lock features a door lock status indicator that uses different colors to communicate its state: blue when the system is awake and ready for use, green when the door is unlocked and open, and red when the door is locked and closed.

A key feature is the integrated video intercom, which allows you to view and communicate with visitors at your front door via a mobile app. When a visitor presses the doorbell button on the keypad, the indoor chime sounds, and the smart lock's camera captures a video clip, sending a notification to your paired mobile device. This enables remote monitoring and two-way communication with visitors in real-time.

The DDL702 also includes an indoor infrared sensor for unlocking, which, when enabled, allows for easy unlocking from the inside by pressing the sensor module on both sides of the handle simultaneously. This feature can be enabled or disabled by long-pressing the [OPEN/CLOSE] button.

For added security, the lock offers an "Outside forced lock" mode. When enabled, unlocking the door from the inside will trigger an alert, providing an extra layer of protection against unauthorized entry. This mode can be activated by long-pressing the outside forced lock button for 2 seconds after the door is successfully locked.

The "Mute mode" is a thoughtful feature that allows you to silence the lock's voice guide, preventing disturbance to your family. It can be toggled on or off by long-pressing the [Mute] button for 2 seconds.

In case of system issues or forgotten credentials, the lock can be restored to default settings, which empties all user information.

Usage Features

The Philips EasyKey DDL702 offers a variety of user-friendly features for daily operation:

  • Multiple Unlocking Methods:

    • PIN Code: Users can unlock the door by touching the keypad to light it up, entering a registered PIN code, and confirming with [#].
    • Fingerprint: Registered fingerprints can be used to unlock the door by placing a finger on the fingerprint sensor.
    • Rotary Knob (Inside): From the inside, the door can be unlocked by simply rotating the rotary knob, thanks to the indoor fast opening mortise.
    • Functional Button (Inside): Alternatively, from the inside, double-pressing the [OPEN] functional button within one second allows for unlocking.
    • Infrared Sensor (Inside): When enabled, triggering the infrared sensor on the handle and simultaneously pressing the sensor module on both sides of the handle unlocks the door.
    • Mechanical Key: In emergencies, a mechanical key can be used to unlock the door.
  • Locking Methods:

    • The latch bolt automatically pops up when the door is closed, accompanied by a "Door Close" voice prompt, indicating successful locking.
    • Inside Deadlock: Long-pressing the [CLOSE] button until the indicator flashes red enables "Inside deadlock" mode, which locks the outside escutcheon and disables all outside operations, requiring master PIN code verification or a mechanical key to release.
  • User Management:

    • Master Mode: Accessing master mode by entering [#] followed by the master PIN code and [#] allows for system configuration.
    • Adding Users: New user PIN codes (6 to 12 digits) and fingerprints can be registered, with the system automatically assigning user codes (00-99). One-time PIN codes can also be added for temporary access.
    • Deleting Users: Individual user PIN codes, one-time PIN codes, or fingerprints can be deleted by entering the appropriate user code in master mode. There is also an option to delete all user PIN codes or all fingerprints.
  • System Settings:

    • Language Settings: The lock supports multiple languages, with English as the default. Users can switch between languages (e.g., Chinese or English) in the system settings.
    • Volume Settings: The volume of the voice guide can be adjusted to high, low, or mute.
    • Locking Mode: Users can switch between auto and manual locking modes.
    • Dual Verification Mode: The lock can be configured to require dual verification (PIN code + Fingerprint) for unlocking, enhancing security.
  • Extended Functions:

    • Network Connection: The lock can be connected to a network, allowing for smart features and app control.
    • App Pairing: The device can be paired with a mobile app by scanning a QR code, enabling remote control and monitoring.
  • System Query:

    • Security Code Query: Users can check the product's serial number.
    • Firmware Version Query: The software version of the lock can be checked.
    • Video Enable/Disable: The video function can be enabled or disabled.

Maintenance Features

The Philips EasyKey DDL702 is designed with maintenance in mind to ensure continuous operation:

  • Battery Management:

    • Low Battery Voltage Indicator: The system automatically checks battery voltage. If it's too low, a red light flashes, and a voice prompt ("Low battery voltage, please replace all batteries") is given when unlocking the door.
    • Battery Replacement: The lock is powered by a 5000mAh/h lithium battery located in the lower part of the inside escutcheon. To replace it, press the button near the bottom of the escutcheon and remove the battery cover.
    • Emergency Charging: In case of low battery and inability to open the door from outside, a 5V power bank can be plugged into the micro USB port to power up the lock temporarily. Batteries should be replaced immediately after unlocking.
    • Lithium Battery Charging: The lithium battery can be removed and charged via a USB port. The manual notes that the lithium battery is guaranteed for one year and has a life of 300 complete charge and discharge cycles.
  • System Reboot: If the system crashes and the smart door lock cannot be unlocked from the outside, it can be rebooted using the micro USB port.

  • Alerts and Troubleshooting:

    • Outside Forced Lock Alert: If outside forced lock mode is enabled, unlocking from the inside triggers a repeating alert until identity verification is successful.
    • Anti-dismantling Alert: An alert is triggered if the door is pried apart, the latch bolt pops up, or if the outside escutcheon is pried open, creating a gap. These alerts repeat until automatically turned off or successful identity verification.
    • Anomalous Deadbolt Alert: An alert is triggered if the deadbolt malfunctions, causing issues with locking or unlocking.
    • Motion Sensor Alert: When enabled, if an unexpected person stays outside the home for more than 30 seconds within a certain distance, the camera records 10 seconds of video and sends instant notifications to the mobile app. This feature is off by default and can be configured via the app, including sensitivity levels and detection distance.
    • System Freezing Indicator: If there are five consecutive incorrect inputs of fingerprint or PIN code within five minutes, the system will lock up for three minutes, indicated by flashing lights on the keypad.
  • Cleaning: The product should be cleaned with a soft cloth.

  • Professional Installation: It is recommended to have a professional technician install the door lock and follow the provided guidelines. Users are advised not to disassemble the lock themselves.

  • Security Best Practices: Users are reminded to modify the default master PIN code immediately after installation, keep password information confidential, and store the mechanical key properly.
