1. Short Description
The interface converters convert the
signals of the RS-232 interface bidirection-
ally into the error-free and efficient RS-422
standard.
The RS-422 interface is a balanced-to-
ground interface for point-to-point connec-
tions.
The logical states are represented by a
differential voltage between two cables.
Main areas of application:
• Interface adaptation (Fig. 2a)
between an RS-232 interface and an
RS-422 interface.
• Long-distance transmission (Fig. 2b)
between two RS-232 interfaces up to
1000 m.
• RS-232 master interface connection to
an RS-485 4-wire bus system (Fig. 2c)
• Electrical isolation
The data transmission rate is determined
by the interface with the lower capacity!

1. Description succincte
Ces modules assurent la conversion bi-
directionnelle des signaux de l'interface
RS-232 dans le standard RS-422 protégé
contre les interférences et performant.
L'interface RS-422 est une interface
symétrique par rapport à la terre pour
des liaisons point à point.
Les états logiques sont représentés par
une différence de tension entre deux
lignes.
Principaux domaines d'application:
• Adaptation d'interfaces (Fig. 2a)
entre une interface RS-232 et une
interface RS-422.
• Transmission sur de longues distances
(fig. 2b) entre deux interfaces RS-232
jusqu'à 1 000 m.
• Adaptation du maître RS-232 à un
bus à 4 fils RS-485-(fig. 2c)
• Isolation galvanique
Le débit de la transmission est fonction de
l'interface la moins puissante!

1. Descripción resumida
Los convertidores de interface convierten
las señales del interface RS-232 bidirec-
cionalmente en el más resistente a las per-
turbaciones y potente estándar RS-422.
El interface RS-422 es un interface de
equilibrio de puesta a tierra para conexio-
nes de punto a punto.
Los estados lógicos se representan me-
diante una tensión diferencial entre dos
conductores.
Campos de aplicación principales:
• Adaptación de interfaces (fig. 2a)
entre un interface RS-232 y un
interface RS-422.
• Transmisión a gran distancia
(fig. 2b) entre dos interfaces RS-232
hasta 1000 m.
• Conexión maestra RS-232 en un siste-
ma bus RS-485 de 4 pares (Fig. 2c)
• Separación galvánica
La velocidad de transmisión de datos es
función del interface de potencia más baja.
