4.8.3 IGMP Static Group
Multicast filtering can be dynamically configured using IGMP Snooping and IGMP Query messages as described in above
sections. For certain applications that require tighter control, you may need to statically configure a multicast service on the
Managed Switch. First add all the ports attached to participating hosts to a common VLAN, and then assign the multicast
service to that VLAN group.
- Static multicast addresses are never aged out.
- When a multicast address is assigned to an interface in a specific VLAN, the corresponding traffic can only be
forwarded to ports within that VLAN.
The IGMP Static Group configuration screens in Figure 4-8-10 & Figure 4-8-11 appear.

Object Description
VLAN ID
Select VLAN ID from this drop-down list
Group IP Address
The IP address for a specific multicast service
Member Ports
Select port number from this drop-down list
