server. First, see the rear side of the print server and check its Node ID. In
the example below, a temporary IP address “192.168.1.220” is assigned to a
print server with Node ID “0090CC40EF37”:
Example: arp -s 192.168.1.220 00-90-CC-40-EF-37
3. Use the “ping” command to check whether the IP address has been
properly assigned to the print server.
Example: ping 192.168.1.220
A message that starts with “Reply from 192.168.1.220...” will be displayed
if the IP address has been properly assigned to the print server.
4. N o w, use the tftp command to download the configuration file that has
been saved to the print server.
Example: tftp 192.168.1.220 get config.txt
5. Use the NotePad utility for Windows or any other text editor to open the
downloaded file (config.txt).
The file consists of the following parameters.
01 BoxName : DEFAULT NAME
02 BoxVersion : 3.01 (fixed)
03 BoxNodeID : 00-90-CC-40-EF-37 (fixed)
04 DHCP/BOOTP : OFF
05 BoxIPAddress : XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
06 Gateway : 0.0.0.0
07 SubnetMask : 255.255.255.0
08 NetWare : Disable
09 PrinterMode : Fast (Fast, Normal, Slow)
10 PrinterName : lp1 (fixed)
To assign “192.168.1.220” as the IP address of the print server, simply
replace the address after “05 BoxIPAddress” (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) with
“192.168.1.220”. Now, use the save command of the editor to save the new
contents.
6. Use the tftp command to upload the new config.txt file to your print
server.
Example: tftp 192.168.1.220 put config.txt
7. Reset the print server to enable the new settings.
Example: tftp 192.168.1.220 get reset
The configuration of the Mini100/ Mini2 print server is now over.
Unix / Linux
1. Log on to the system with the root permission.
2. Use the “arp” command to assign a temporary IP address to the print
server. First, see the rear side of the print server and check its Node ID.
In the example below, a temporary IP address “192.168.1.220” is
assigned to a print server with Node ID “0090CC40EF37”:
Example: arp -s 192.168.1.220 00-90-CC-40-EF-37
