4.2.5 ANALYSE operation mode
The ANALYSE operating mode provides the following measurements:
Downstream:
- Channel power by detection
- Modulation error ratio (MER) and error rate in digital
signal (BER)
- Graphic display of constellation diagram
- Frequency, channel and active channel plan
- Modulation type and symbol rate
Upstream:
Unregistered mode: - Power level check
- Attenuation in CMTS
- Frequency and bandwidth
- Modulation and symbol rate
Registered mode: - Ping test
- Ratio of lost packets
- IP Report
Digital channel power is metered via an detection method over the full channel
bandwidth. PROMAX-25 applies a 6 MHz band-pass filter over the channel bandwidth
and meters the total power of the channel.

This procedure to meter power also makes it possible to obtain measurements
for analogue channels, the power of which is distributed within the bandwidth of the
DOCSIS digital channel.

To access the analysis function operating mode menu from any operating
mode press the direct access button to go directly to the main menu. Later, select the
ANALYSE [F5] option from the lower selection box.
