Overview

The Pulse-Eight neo:X+ Video Matrix (P8-HDBT2-U-FFMJ1210-KIT) is a flagship HDBaseT video matrix with an integrated audio matrix, designed for comprehensive home entertainment and control systems. It offers advanced video and audio routing capabilities, supporting high-resolution content and flexible control options.

Function Description:

The neo:X+ features 8 HDMI inputs, 8 HDBaseT outputs, and 2 HDMI outputs, allowing for extensive connectivity with various source and sink devices. It incorporates DSC (Display Stream Compression) technology, enabling the transmission of high-bandwidth video signals over long distances. The integrated audio matrix provides 10 audio output zones and 4 audio input zones, offering flexible audio routing independent of video.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: Designed for rack mounting (3U size) with supplied rack ears. Requires careful cabling with Cat5e/6/7 for HDBaseT and high-speed HDMI cables for direct connections.
  • Web Interface (WEB UI): User-friendly drag-and-drop interface for video and audio routing. Accessible via www.gotomymatrix.com or directly via IP address.
    • Admin Rights: Activate administrative rights for full setup options, including input/output configuration, EDID management, and network settings.
    • Video Routing: Assign HDMI inputs to HDBaseT or HDMI outputs.
    • Audio Routing: Two modes:
      • Source Mode: Audio outputs mirror 1:1 the input ports, meaning audio does not switch with video. Provides fixed audio de-embedding from HDMI sources.
      • Sink Mode: Audio follows video routing, allowing independent audio control for each output zone. Features an audio locking feature for continuous audio regardless of video source switching.
    • Audio Control: Each audio output zone can be set to Active or Passive mode.
      • Active Mode: Enables Audio Delay (up to 340ms), Audio Volume adjustment, and ARC (Audio Return Channel) functionality. Used for controlling linked devices like ProAmp8.
      • Passive Mode: Provides a standard line-level output, with audio delay, volume, and ARC controlled externally by the amplifier.
    • EDID Management: Contains presets (Dynamic, Clone Display X, HDR/UltraHD (4K)/1080p/720p) to ease setup and ensure compatibility between sources and displays.
    • Set Top Box IP Control: Program IP control for compatible set-top boxes (Sky UK, TiVo/Virgin, Kodi, Dish, DirecTV) by entering their IP address.
    • CEC Control: HDMI-CEC support with options for Auto Pause (pauses content when no sink device is watching) and Remote Control Combo Keys.
