Defaulting the control panel:
1. Default the control panel by removing all power and placing a jumper across LK1.
2. Apply power (ac volts) to the control panel.
3. After +/- 15 seconds, all leds will return to normal operation. Remove the jumper on LK1.
4. Remove power to control panel.
Zone wiring:
All zone inputs can be hardwired, wireless or a combination of hardwired and wireless.
1 to 8………….. 2k7 EOL resistor programmable zones on the control panel.
9 to 16…………2k7 EOL resistor programmable zones on the expander board.
Panic input……2k7 EOL resistor. Programmable only as 24-hour audible;
24-hour silent or keyswitch.
Tamper input.. Normally open input. Programmable only as 24-hour audible;
24-hour silent or keyswitch.
Adding wireless detectors: (selected in zone programming L4)
It is recommended that each detector be programmed before being installed and that only the
detector being programmed is powered up.
Only wireless detectors supplied by QD Group are compatible.
1) Enter Installer programming mode level #2 (see page 13)
2) Enter the zone number to be programmed by press the corresponding zone number. (The 0 key will
switch between bank 1, zones 1 to 8 and bank 2, zones 9 to 16)
3) The zone LED will start flashing fast.
4) Press the * key. Buzzer will beep and the instant LED will flash fast.
5) Trigger the detector to be programmed.
6) Keypad will beep. The instant LED will stop flashing and the zone LED will be on solid.
7) Repeat from step 2 for all remaining wireless detectors.
NOTE If the keypad gives 4 short beeps and a different zone LED lights than the one being programmed,
this indicates that this particular detector is already programmed into the zone being indicated.
Deleting a programmed wireless detector:
1) Enter installer programming mode level #2 as above.
2) Programmed wireless zone numbers will light.
3) Enter the zone number to delete.
4) Zone LED will start to flash.
5) Press the # key.
6) Buzzer will beep and led will switch off. (Wireless input has been deleted.)
Press the “HOME” key to exit programming mode.
Adding Codex remote transmitters: (This is done under end user functions)
Up to 16 Codex remotes can be used in the system when using the bus transceiver and are independent
from the 16 Pin user codes.
The bank leds in conjunction with the zone leds indicate the user number. The 0 key will alternate between
bank 1, remotes 1 to 8 and bank 2, remotes 9 to 16.
Two separate stages are required to program the Codex remote
Step 1 – Learn the remote into the HSC816
Step 2 – Define button functions.
