4.7 Opening and closing the pan lid
CAUTION
The pan lid can be opened and closed only with jerky movements
If the pan lid mechanism is defective, there is a risk of injury.
1. Open the pan lid fully and leave open.
2. Contact your RATIONAL Service Partner.
NOTICE
The pan lid and the pan lid gasket can be damaged if the pan lid is closed when the pan is tilted
Function parts must be replaced when damaged.
1. Only close the unit lid once the pan is fully lowered.
Open pan lid
1. CAUTION!Scalding hazard! If the unit is in operation, hot steam may surge out of the pan. Grip the pan lid
handle and open the pan lid.
Close pan lid with iVarioClose
The pan lid lowering function, iVarioClose , is of particular benefit for high installation heights.
1. Press the button .
> The pan lid lowers to a defined position and remains in this position for 4 seconds.
2. Grasp the pan lid by the handle and close it completely by hand.
>> If the pan lid is not closed manually, it will open automatically after 4 seconds.
If you press the central dial during automatic lowering, the pan lid will remain in this position.
After 4 seconds, the pan lid will automatically reopen fully.
Deactivate iVarioClose function
You can deactivate the pan lid lowering function:
1. Press the button .
2. Press the button Cooking system
3. Press the OFF button behind iVarioClose.
>> The iVarioClose pan lid lowering function is deactivated.
4.8 Filling the pan using the automatic water filling function
CAUTION
Germ formation in the automatic water filling mechanism
If you do not use the automatic water filling function daily, germs may form in the water line.
1. Clean the automatic water filling mechanism with detergent and a sponge every morning and night.
2. Rinse the automatic water filling mechanism with 3 litres of water every morning and night.
You can fill the pan with water automatically and exactly to the litre using the automatic water refill.
