directlytothevessel'sbattery,viaasuitablyrated
fuseorbreaker.
YouMUSTtasuitablyratedfuseorbreaker
betweentheredwireandthebattery’spositive
terminal.
Refertotheinlinefuseratingsprovidedinthe
product’sdocumentation.
Ifyouneedtoextendthelengthofthepower
cable,ensureyouusesuitablyratedcableand
thatsufcientpower(12Vdc)isavailableatthe
SeaTalkng®backbone’spowerconnection.

BatteryconnectionscenarioA:suitableforavesselwith
acommonRFgroundpoint.Inthisscenario,ifyour
product’spowercableissuppliedwithaseparatedrain
wirethenitshouldbeconnectedtothevessel’scommon
groundpoint.

withoutacommongroundingpoint.Inthiscase,ifyour
product’spowercableissuppliedwithaseparatedrain
wirethenitshouldbeconnecteddirectlytothebattery’s
negativeterminal.

connectedtoasuitablebreakerorswitchonthe
vessel'sdistributionpanelorfactory-ttedpower
distributionpoint.
Thedistributionpointshouldbefedfrom

)cable.
Ideally,allequipmentshouldbewiredtoindividual
suitably-ratedthermalbreakersorfuses,with
appropriatecircuitprotection.Wherethisisnot
possibleandmorethan1itemofequipment
sharesabreaker,useindividualin-linefuses
foreachpowercircuittoprovidethenecessary
protection.
Inallcases,observetherecommended
breaker/fuseratingsprovidedintheproduct’s
documentation.
