24.Ifnecessary,applyadditionalmarine-gradesealanttotheanti-rotationboltabovethesmall
washer.
25.Screwtheanti-rotationnutontotheboltandfullytighten,usingasuitablesizedwrench(spanner).
26.ApplyathickbeadofmarinegradesealantinthegapbetweenthetransducerandHighspeed
noseconeonthebottomandbothsides,asshownbelow.
27 .Removeanyexcesssealantontheoutsideofthehullandtransducer,ensuringasmooth
transitionbetweenHighspeednoseconeandtransducerandtransducerandhull.
28.Ensurethatthemarine-gradesealanthasfullycured
Refertothesealantmanufacturer’sinstructionsforcuringtimes.
29 .Unlesslocalenvironmentalregulationsprohibit,applyawaterbasedanti-foulingpainttothe
bottomfaceofthetransducer,ensuringalloftheexternallyexposedtransducersurfacesare
coatedandthepaintoverlapsontothehull.
30.Checkforleaksaroundthetransducerimmediatelyuponputtingthevesselbackinthewater.
Important:
DoNO Tleaveyourvesselinthewateruncheckedafterinstallingyourtransducer.Verysmall
leaksmaynotbeimmediatelyobvious,andconsiderablebilgewatercouldaccumulateoverthe
courseofaday,orovernight.
31.Checkforleak satregularintervalsafterinstallationuntilyouaresatisfiedthattherearenoleaks.
32.Ensurecheckingforleaksaroundthetransducerisaddedtoyourroutinevesselmaintenance
schedule.
Anti-fouling
Wherelocalregulationsallow,itisrecommendedthatyoucoatyourtransducerusingawater-based
anti-foulingpaint.Thiswillhelppreventthebuild-upoforganicgrowth,whichcanreducetransducer
performance.
Important:
•Beforeapplyingwater-basedanti-foulingpaint,checkthatlocalenvironmentalrulesand
regulationsdonotprohibittheuseofanti-foulingpaint.
•Neverusecopper-basedanti-foulingpaintasthiscanimpacttransducerperformance .
•Neveruseketone-basedanti-foulingpaintasthiscanattackthetransducer’splastic,damaging
thetransducer.
•Paintyourtransducerusingabrush,donotuseaspraycanoraspongerollerasthesemethods
cancausetinyairbubblestobeincorporatedinthepaint,whichwillalsoreducetransducer
performance.
