AutoTack angle
Y ou should set the AutoT ack angle to 20° greater than the actual required change
of heading.
Example
If you wish to tack through 80° (i.e when sailing at 40° to the wind) you should set
the Auto T ack angle to 100°. The SmartP ilot will AutoT ack through the larger
angle , you sho uld then use the SmartPil ot controls to trim the h elm back to the
required 40° relative to the wind.
Y ou can adjust the default Auto T ack angle in User Calibration (see
page 30
).
Preventing gybes with AutoTack
T he gybe inhibit feature prevents an AutoT ack away from the wind – this will
prevent the Au toT ack feature from gybing.
Note:
For the gyb e inhibit feature to work, the SmartPilot needs suitable wind informa
tion.
Gybe inhibit is switched on as a default but can be disabled in User Calibration if
required
(see page 30 )
