Explanation of the Remote Control Buttons
(in alphabetical order)
_u can use this iernote to operate the DVD recorder, and to access the features available.
-[he descriptions that follow descril)e how each button works when operating the DVD recorder.
Many buttons will petit)ira different functkms depending upon the type of disc and menu fimctions
of the disc.
0-9 (Number buttons) l Jse the number huttons to input infomlation such as chaptel ntlmbers,
tlack il[In]bels, to make selections on some n]entl screens, and/or to change channels.
Arrow buttons (up, down, left, right) lJse the arrow buttons to highlight options that appear on the
screen (the arrow I)uttons move the highlight in the corresponding diJections up arrow moves the
highlight tip; left arrow moves the highlight left, etc.).
ADVANCE When playing a disc, moves fi>rwald approximately 30 seconds. Not applicable tol
VCDs or mp3 files.
AGAIN Accesses the Scene Again TM feature lepla?zs the last several seconds (approximately 10) of
the DVD disc youre playing. Not applicahle for VCDs or rap3 files.
ANGLE Accesses various camera angles that might have been added to a pie recorded disc when it
was created. Not .available on all discs. Highlight the angle you want, and pless OK.
AUDIO Accesses the available audio languages on a disc. Highlight the langnage )x)u want, and
piess OK.
CH+ Advances to the next chapte_ or track when )'ou're playing discs. Goes to the next channel in
the channd list when watdling "IM
CH - When playing a disc, goes to the beginning of the cuHent chapter oi track, unless you're
within the first minute of a chapter or the first 15 seconds of a track then you'll skip to the
I)eginning of the pJeceding chapter or track. When watci/ing "Ia!, goes to the previous channel in tile
channels list.
EXIT/CLEAR During playback, removes on-screen metlus and displays. In the menu system, clears
el]flies.
EDIT Unftnalizes a pre recorded DVDR_ _once it has been finalized for compatibility in other
players.

GO BACK Returns )<>uto the previous menu. When watching I'V, goes back to the previous
channeh
HDMI-q\>ggles the available video output modes fk)i high definition iesolution (480i, 480p, 720p,
and 1080i).
INFO Displays the on scleen Infi>Display.
INPUT Accesses tile Video Input Channels corresponding to the input jacks on the recoldcr:
DVD. DV IN (mini DV), AV]/REAR, AV2/FRON'I, AUDI() IN. TUNER (cable/antenna.
MENU When you/re playing a disc, accesses the disc_ m_'nu, if one' is available. When playing a
VCD disc, toggles the PBC (Play Back Contlol) on and off.
OK When a metal is oil the scleen, selects the highlighted item.
OPEN'CLOSE Opens and doses the disc tra>
ON*OFF -Iurns the DVD Jecorder on and off.
PAUSE Pauses disc playback or recording. Also advances still flames forward.
PLAY Begins disc playback.
PLAY MODE - "Ibggles the availaHe repeat modes.
PREVIEW- When viewing a picture slideshow, goes to the browser.
REC (RECORD) R_'cords progJamming.
(REV) REVERSE Sealches backward through a disc. In pause mode, REV toggles tile backward
slow motion speeds. In playback, RFN toggles the fast backward speeds.
SETUP -A_cesses the DVD lecorder's menu.
