The following recommendations can'tbe taken asaguaranteethat the DVD recorder will play mp3 recordings,or as an assuranceof sound quality.Certain
technologies andmethods for mp3 file recording on CD-R discsprevent optimal playbackof thesefiles on your product.
• Make sure the file is a true rap3 file, You can onl) play true MP3 filesfil the DVD lvcorder--some products use software to compress rap3 filesat}d cot}vert them to
other formats such as MPX. Your DVD recorder wodt recognize or play MPX filesor other fi_q)esof converted rap3 files, Also, if the rap3 file is copy protected from a
sectlre dowt}load site, it may not playz
• When naming rap3 files, doI_'texceed 12 characters, and et/rer ,rap3 as the file extension. When usirlg a general name format ofi Tide.rap3, make sure the tide is 8
characters or less,don't use spaces, and don't use spedal characters (such as, -. +, 1,%, &, etc,),
• V_laateverthe real recordit_g capad V of the CD-R, don't use more than 630MB of recordb/g space on the disc.
• Usea decomplvssion nmlsfer rare of at least 128 kb/sec (kilobits/secolld) when Ivcording rap3 files. Sound quality wkh rap3 filesbasicallydepends or/the rate of
compression _u choose. Gettfilg audio CD qua]ky sound requires at/analog/digital sampling rare, that is conversion to rap3 format, of at least 128 kb/sec and up to
160 kb/sec, Howevel; choosillg higher rate_ like 192 kb/sec or mo_, only rarely giveeven better smmd qualit> Coilvel_ely, fileswith sampling rates below 128 kb/sec
won't be plaped.
Can't get to DVD recorder's main menu
• Press tile STOP button until the mahl menu appears or press the left arrow button to return to the previotl; menu. If dlat doesn't work, remove file rap3 disc from the
disc tray.
Can't make the Info Display appear
• The Irlfo Disphyis only avadable whell phying DVD discs, Video CDs, and watchb/gTV, It does riot appear when viewirlg JPEGS in browser mode.
Timer Recordings
• Make sure the do& is set and file time is correct. If dxetime is filaccurare, set it by selecting tile &*up menu; thell Chick,

• Ify_u're recording from a satellite receiver or cablebox, make sure they are turned on and tuned m the desired channd when it is time for the recording m start, Also, if
you tlsed audio/video or S.Video cables to cotmect your satdfite receiver or cable box to the DVD _vcordel;rune the DVD recorder to the corresponding Video Iilput
Channel bypressing the INPUT button on the remote controh If?_u used a coaxial cable to connect your satdlire receiver orcable box to the DVD recorder, tune the
DVD recorder to the corresponding satellite / cable box chatmel (usually channel 2, 3, or 4), Remember, the DVD recorder must be tulled to tile appropriate blptlt that
matches how d_esatellite receiver or cable box is connected before !.u mm offtke DVD recorder.
Remote Control
Remote won't work
• Insert new batteries in the remote,
• Operate the remote control at a distance of no more than 20 feet.
• Remove aW obstacles between the remote atld d_eDVD recorder or other component. If?_ur DVD recorder is hi an entertainment cabinet, file glassdoors might
obsmlct the remote control from operating file DVD recorder. Open the doors.
Lostthe remote control
• To order a new remote cor_trol,go to pah_e42. The buttons on the front oftke DVD recorder operate die DVD recorder's basic fmxctions, but you wodt be able to
usethe menu system without tile remote col/trol. The buttons on the front of the unit are described oil page 7. Also,if you have another RCA, GE, or Proscan braild
product with a remote cotltrol that hiesa DVD button, some of tile burtons will probably operate thisproduct if you press the DVD button first.
