10. SYSTEM INSTALLATION
1. Take the system out of the packaging and check for damage during transport.
2. The complete set contains the following elements:
• Pump
• Mattress replacement with air tubeset and cover
• Power cord
• Instruction for use
3. Place the mattress on a bed with a hospital mattress or directly on the bed frame if a foam layer is
inserted in the bottom pocket (foam layer is not included). The air tubeset must be on the patient's
leg side.
Before laying the mattress on the bed, check that it has been fitted with a foam layer. To do this, open
the zipper of the bottom pocket at the bottom of the mattress.
If the foam layer is inserted in the pocket, place the mattress directly on the bed frame. If the pocket
is empty, place the mattress on a bed with a foam mattress.
4. Attach the mattress to the bed frame using the securing straps
5. Hang the pump on the bed frame on the patient's leg side.
CAUTION: Pay special attention to proper positioning of the mattress on the bed. The air
tubeset should be on the patient's leg side. If the mattress is reversed, the patient's feet will be
in the head section, which is constantly filled with air, which can lead to the development of
heel decubitus ulcers.
