12. OPERATION
1. Turn on the pump using button to position I. All indicators on the pump will light up and a
beep will sound. Check to see if any of the indicators are indicating a malfunction.
2. Start the pump by pressing to the ON position, so that the LED lights up. If the pump was
previously turned off by the side button in ON mode, then after switching it back on it will go
straight to this mode.
3. To check, if the battery powering the power failure alarm, is working properly, turn off the pump
power by pressing to position . If you hear a beep, the battery is working properly. After
conducting the battery test, switch the pump on again.
4. After starting, the pump automatically goes to full inflation mode (operating principle described on
page 14). After the mattress has been filled (approx. 1 hour), the pump will automatically switch to
the last saved settings before turning off.
5. Place the sheet (not included) on the mattress and roll it loosely under the mattress. Make sure the
CPR quick deflation valve is easily accessible.
6. For easier transfer the patient on the mattress:
• enable the full inflation mode (operating principle described on page 14); the surface of the
mattress will become firm in about 5 minutes, which will facilitate the patient transfer.
• turn off the Easy Turn Technology function (lateral tilt and / or patient rotation - operating
principles described below)
7. Place the patient on the mattress and deactivate the full inflation mode (if enabled) (operating
principle described on page 14).
8. Select the appropriate operating mode (operating principle described on page14)
9. Set the appropriate pressure according to the weight and position of the patient on the mattress
(principle described on page 15). If you are uncertain contact your doctor.
