TRANSPORT FUNCTION
To transport the patient on the mattress, press the button to enter the full inflation mode and wait for
the mattress to fill, which will take about 5 minutes. Disconnect the air tubeset from the pump and close
with the attached stopper. The mattress will remain filled with air for up to 24 hours.
13. CLEANING, WASHING AND DISINFECTION
CLEANING
The MULTIDEC system is a reusable medical device and as such should be regularly cleaned and disinfected,
both before being used by a new patient and during use.
Disconnect the system from the power source before cleaning. Personnel should wear protective clothing
when performing disinfection procedures.
Clean all surfaces and remove any organic residues by washing the device with a cloth soaked in a mild
detergent solution. Dry thoroughly.
COVER DISINFECTION
If necessary (e.g. blood, body fluids etc.), the cover can be chemically disinfected by washing it with a
disposable cloth dipped in 0.1% sodium hypochlorite solution (1000ppm) with cold water. A 1% (10,000
ppm) sodium hypochlorite solution with cold water can also be used for this purpose. Rinse the cover
thoroughly and let it dry. Make sure the cover is completely dried before putting it on the mattress.
Regular or too long exposure of the cover to a higher concentration of disinfectants can damage the surface
of the cover.
LAUNDERING
Mattress cover should be completely removed before laundering.
