• The air hoses and the power cord should be placed at the foot of the bed so that they are not near
the moving parts of the bed or in other places where they can get caught. If there are flaps on the
sides of the mattress to protect the power cords, use them.
• The air tubing and power cord should be positioned so that they cannot cause the patient to get
tangled in the tubing, (e.g. when leaving the bed), do not pose a tripping hazard and pose no other
hazard.
• The power cord and air hoses should not be kinked or blocked
• Do not block the air holes and air tubeset, protect against contamination with small particles,
objects, hair, lint, fibers etc. Do not put anything into them.
• Headrest uplift detector (if applicable) should be connected to the pump by the caregiver/user, not
the patient.
• The CPR quick release should always be visible and easily accessible.
• The bags supplied with the device may cause suffocation; to avoid the risk of strangulation, keep the
bags away from babies and young children
• Do not use any accessories not specified by the manufacturer
• Installation or removal of the foam layer in the bottom pocket may only be carried out by the
manufacturer.
• Avoid placing additional layers between the patient and the mattress so as not to limit the impact of
the mattress on the patient,
• Avoid clothing that has folds, seams, pockets, items in pockets, etc. that can put pressure on body
and skin,
• The mattress top cover is vapor permeable, but not air permeable, so it may pose a risk of
suffocation.
• Do not use the mattress without the top cover
• Patient cannot lay on the deflated mattress
• Always disconnect the pump from the power source before cleaning or technical service/inspection
• Clean and dry the system before use and packing for storage,
• Do not expose the system to direct sunlight,
• Do not use phenol-based agents to clean the system,
• Do not spray the cleaning solution directly onto the pump
• The pump and mattress should be stored in protective bags or cartons attached to the device,
• The pump and mattress may only be used together as indicated in this manual and by PPH “Real”.
The correct operation of the device cannot be guaranteed if incorrect pump and mattress
combination are used.
• All aspects of care should be always reviewed by the attending physician.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RECOMMENDATIONS MAY CAUSE INJURY,
AND IN EXTREME CASES, EVEN DEATH
