Page 28 13900-103 Rev. A
Tonometer Alignment
This test displays the gain value for the applanation
voltage of the measurement system. A value too high will
cause saturation of the peak voltage and a value too low
will cause asterisk readings.
Note: Revision A (shown on the data plate on the lower
section of the patient's side right cover - refer to
Figure CT-10) units have a potentiometer on the
circuitboard inside the optical head which
adjusts the applanation gain (refer to Figure CT-
11). The revision A units must have the tonometer
head cover removed to adjust the applanation
gain.
If the gain using the control buttons on the
operators side is set to any number except zero
for the Revision A unit, an Error Code #5 may be
displayed after removing the Service Software
Card.
Revision B units contain a software gain adjust-
ment which will adjust the applanation gain using
the control buttons on the operators side while
the Service Software Card is installed (the unit
covers do not require removal). There is no
potentiometer on the circuitboard inside the
optical head for this revision.
1. Press the button below the SELECT icon while the Ton
Align is highlighted. The tonometer applanation test
screen will become active.
2. This screen displays the software controlled Applana-
tion Gain Value for Revision B units (Applanation Gain
Value is displayed for Revision A units, however, the
value must be set to zero). This number (peak
amplitude value) may be adjusted using the UP/DOWN
arrows after the Optical Alignment and Fire Around
tests is performed.
Note: If the Appl. Gain Value is set too high, saturation
of the voltage signal may occur and cause
inaccurate readings.
3. If the Appl. Gain Value was changed, press the button
below the SELECT icon to save the number to memory.
4. Press the button below the RETURN icon to return to
the Service Menu screen.
