Miscellaneous System Errors
The information in this section will aid the technician to isolate the malfunction. Probable causes are listed in sequence of
probability (first probable cause listed is the most likely cause or the easiest to test). The following list provides some known System
Errors that can occur. This list cannot include all the possible errors for this instrument, however, continuous information will be
added at each revision to this manual as it is revised.
Note: To provide concise information on specific parts, assemblies, and/or connector designators (e.g., P1) are indicated and
followed by the associated Parts Manual figure and item number (e.g., Fig. 5, 27) .
Note: Reference to the Harness Connection List is given in Appendix B.
Miscellaneous System Errors
Definition Probable Cause Solution
Screen Blank ............................................... Unit in Sleep Mode. Depress any button.
No power applied to unit. Apply input power.
Reset Button (Fig.7,28) stuck. Release stuck button.
Contrast knob turned down. Adjust contrast knob.
Fuse(s) Blown. Replace blown fuse(s) (Fig.4,30) or
fuse on Power I/O Board (Fig.7,27).
Transformer fused winding opened. Replace Transformer (Fig.4,32).
J4 (Fig.7,16) Disc’d. Attach connector.
J13 (Fig.7,27) Disc’d. Attach connector.
Does not exit Sleep Mode. Refer to LCD Brightness Adjustment in
the
Calibration section.
Single line on screen. Replace Power I/O Board (Fig.7,27).
Screen Bright with no data showing ...... Cables to LCD Screen not properly connected. Check connections and re-attach if
necessary.
J3 (Fig.7,7) Disc’d. Attach connector.
Disengage Travel Lock Showing.............. Travel Lock Engaged. Disengage Travel Lock.
J2, J8, J10, J12 (Fig.7, 16) Disc’d. Attach connector.
R15 (Fig.7,16) Not adjusted correctly. Refer to Position System Motor Current
Adjustment in the Calibration section.
Sensor Flags for the XYZ Home Position. Align sensor flags to sensors / sensor.
Too Close Message Showing ................... Eyelashes touching the end of the air-tube. Have the patient open their eye wide.
Touch sensor contaminated. Clean touch sensor (end of the air-tube)
with an alcohol pad.
Touch sensor circuit defective. Replace Proximity Board (13900-931).
Position Patient Message Showing ........ Patient not looking at green fixation LED. Instruct pateint to look for fixation LED,
then move in toward headrest.
Position LED's Disc'd. Attach connector / check
connections.
Blocked alignment path. Clear alignment path / clean widows.
Does Not Find the Eye ................................ Moves straight out , goes out then Ensure light path from VVL diodes t
straight back (can't find anything). cameras is unobstructed.
Check connection to diodes/cameras.
Replace diode and/or camera.
