Operation
With the gear lever 1 in P position, start
the engine and the “READY” message
is displayed on the instrument panel.
To exit P position, you must press the
brake pedal (the c warning light is
displayed).
With your foot on the brake pedal
(warning light
c on the display goes
out), move the lever out of position P.
Only move the gear lever 1 to posi-
tion D or R when the vehicle is sta-
tionary, with your foot on the brake
and the accelerator pedal released.

Note:
– the selector lever 1 may exit posi-
tion P, R, N, D, B if the key is in the
“ON” position ➥ 2.2 or, for vehicles
fitted with a “hands-free” card, in
“Accessories function” mode ➥ 2.3;
– the selector lever 1 cannot switch
from position P to another position
if the key is in the “LOCK” position
➥ 2.2 and if the key is removed or,
on vehicles equipped with a “hands-
free” card, if the ignition is switched
off ➥ 2.3.
