Rear seat belt reminder,
standard chassis version
(depending on the vehicle)
The 6 or 7 graphic is displayed on the
instrument panel when the vehicle ig-
nition is switched on. This informs the
driver of the fastening status of each of
the rear seat belts every time:
– opening a door;
– a rear seat belt is fastened/unfas-
tened.
Reading the 6 or 7 graphic,
depending on the vehicle:
– indicator green: seatbelt fastened;
– indicator red: seatbelt unfastened.
When the vehicle speed is below ap-
proximately 12 mph (20 km/h), the
graphic 6 or 7 appears during approx-
imately 60 seconds every time one of
the rear seat belts is fastened or unfas-
tened.
When the vehicle speed reaches or ex-
ceeds 12 mph (20 km/h), if one of the
rear seat belts is unfastened during the
journey:
– the warning light
ß flashes on
the central display;
and
– a beep sounds for around 30 sec-
onds;
and
– the 6 or 7 graphic is displayed for at
least 60 seconds and the symbol for
the seat concerned changes to red.

Always make sure that the rear passen-
gers are properly fastened in and that
the number of seat belts indicated cor-
responds to the number of rear seats
occupied.
