With the card in the vehicle, press the
button

: the engine is switched off.
The READY message disappears from
the instrument panel.
The steering column is locked when a
door is opened or the vehicle is locked.
Ifthecardisnolongerinthepassen-
ger compartment when you try to
switchtheengineoff,the"Cardmiss-
ing: press and hold START" message
appears on the instrument panel:

onds. If the card is no longer in the
passenger compartment, make sure
you can retrieve it before pressing and
holding the button. Without the card,
youwillnotbeabletorestartthevehi-
cle.
Withtheengineswitchedoff,anyac-
cessories being used (radio, etc.) will
continue to function for approximately
10 minutes.
Whenthedriver’sdoorisopened,the
accessories stop working.
Special case of vehicles E-Tech
full hybrid
Withthevehiclestationaryandinelec-
tric operating mode, the "ENGINE ON
SWITCH OFF IGNITION" message
appearsontheinstrumentpanelac-
companied by a beep if:
– the driver's seatbelt is not fastened;
– the bonnet is open;
– the driver's door is open.
Neverswitchofftheigni-
tion before the vehicle
has stopped completely.
Once the engine has
stopped, the brake servo, power-
assisted steering and passive
safety devices, such as
theairbagsand pretensioners, will
no longer operate.
Whenyouleaveyourve-
hicle, especially if you
have your card with you,
check that the engine is
completely switched off.
Driver's responsibility
when parking or stop
ping the vehicle
Never leave an animal,
childoradultwhoisnotself-suffi-
cient alone in your vehicle, even
for a short time.
Theymayposearisktothem-
selves or to others by starting the
engine, activating equipment such
as the electric windows or locking
the doors.
Also, in hot and/or sunny weather,
pleaserememberthatthetemper-
atureinsidethepassengercom-
partment increases very quickly.
