5.5.2 Activating/deactivatingthe„Replacelter“indicatortone
The„Replacelter“indicatortonecanbeactivatedordeactivated.
To do this:
Switch the Silent off;
While holding down the
and keys, switch the Silent back on and wait for the indicator tone
- Brief indicator tone: acoustic signal deactivated
- Longer indicator tone: acoustic signal active
5.6 OperationwiththeSILENTowsensor
IftheextractionunitisoperatedincombinationwithaowratemonitoringunitsuchastheSILENTow
sensor, the following must be observed:
Iftheowrateislessthanthedenedthresholdvalueforacertainperiod,thisisdetectedbythe
SILENTowsensor,thecorrespondingindicatorbeginstoash,andawarningtoneisoutput
every 30 seconds.
Iftheowrateistoolowatthesuctionpointbeingmonitored,safeoperationisnolongerguaran-
teed and the level of exposure to dust can be harmful to health!
In this case, the following measures must be taken:
Stop working at all suction points of the affected extraction unit This applies to the individual suction
channels of any multi-workbench extraction unit as well as to all suction points operated via a Y-junction
or via extractor switches
Determinewhytheowrateistoolowandresolvetheissue.
Cause Measure
Suction level is too low. • Choose a higher suction level
Dust bag is full. • Change the dust bag
Changing the dust bag does not result in the expect-
ed improvement.
Replacethenelter.
Forlow-dustreplacementofthenelter,observe
Chap 631
Blockage in the suction point (suction mouth). • Disconnect the suction hose at the suction point and
check whether there is a blockage in the suction point;
remove where appropriate
Blockage in the suction line. • Check the suction line at all disconnection points / ser-
vice openings section by section for blockages
Leakage in the section of the suction line between
theSILENTowsensorandtheextractionunit.
ChecktheinstallationoftheSILENTowsensorin
accordance with its instructions
Determining the cause and measures can be carried out in the order shown
Aftereverymeasure,youshouldswitchontheextractionunitagainandcheckwhethertheminimumow
rate is again exceeded so that correct operation is possible again
Workshouldonlyresumeafterthefaulthasbeenrectiedandtheminimumowrateisexceeded
again
6 Cleaning / Maintenance
The unit does not contain any internal parts that require maintenance.
Opening the unit is not permitted other than as described below!
6.1 Seals
To ensure the proper function of the dust extractor, it is vital that the following three seals:
- Prolesealonthedustdrawer(Fig.12a);
- V-ring seal on the dust drawer (Fig 12b);
- Seal on the upper front panel (Fig 20);
are not damaged
Inspectthesesealswhenreplacingtheassociatedltersandreplacethemiftheyarefoundtobe
damaged (refer to the spare parts list)
