Pressing this button, you can save the parameters previously set (frequency, stimulus) as
default. A dialog window will ask for confirmation before saving the parameters
These keys allow you to define the functionality of the SIGNAL key for signal
presentation. The first key is used to establish the operating mode, like if the signal is
generated when the key is pressed or if it is always present and interrupted when key
is pressed. Use the arrow keys to extend the action once the key is released for a period
of 0 to 2.5 seconds.
Exit and Save
Pressing the EXIT button, a dialog box will pop up and ask if you wish to save and/or print the
test out on the thermal printer.
Press YES or NO. If answer is YES, R17A will show patient database page to select the patient
to be associated to the test performed, confirmation is required pressing this button. Please,
refer to section 6 of this user manual for further information about the patient database
management.
Information shown on the display
Indicates the name of the patient undergoing the examination, as previously
selected. Touch the icon to get direct access to patient database.
Indicates battery residual charge and current time.
When the patient presses the response pushbutton a green line appears on the
display to highlight the answer.
Keyboard operation
The R17A allows for the connection of an external USB keyboard to perform the tone audiometry testing
without using the touch screen. The keys and key combinations to be used are the following:
Stimulus selection: press key I to change stimulus
Output selection: press R for the right side or L for the left side (you can also switch sides by
pressing TAB), press O for the output.
Frequency selection: left and right arrow keys
Stimulus intensity: up and down arrow keys
Masking level: shift + up and down arrow keys. As an alternative you can also activate and
deactivate the masking function by pressing M.
Stimulus presentation: spacebar. When briefly pressed it activates or deactivates the continuous
tone presentation, when kept pressed it behaves like the SIGNAL button on the screen. Press
ENTER to save the value.
Communication with the patient: press T to activate and deactivate this function
