Check Connection Status
You can confirm that the connection to your printer is working properly using the
Smart Organizing Monitor utility. Note that you can also confirm connection status using Web
Image Monitor.
Before proceeding, please check the following:
• Printer power switch is On.
• You have successfully completed Steps 1-4.
To check connection status, proceed as follows:
1. Click [Start]
[Smart Organizing Monitor Status].
2. Wait a moment, as software checks for a connection. If the
connection is successful, the displays reads, Ready (or Energy Saver
Mode 2). If the connection failed, the display reads, No Response
from I/O Device.

Note:
• To connect manually, e.g., the printer is
networked via an Ethernet cable, click [Connect Printer], click
drop-down menu [], and select [Connect Printer]. Enter
printer’s IP address
, and click [OK]. To perform an automatic
search for the printer, click [Search Network Printer].
3. Click [X] to close Smart Organizing Monitor.
