8 Rail / Rope
8.1 Check for continuity rail / rope
For all work within chapter 8: switch OFF main switch. Switch ON after termination
only
37 = Rope
38 = Rail
Take off wire 37 / 38 (from installation side) – check for continuity
If continuity, proceed to 8.1.1
Otherwise reconnect the 2 wires (do not mix up
) and proceed to point 8.2
8.1.1 Search for short circuit rail / rope
Take off wire 37 / 38 on terminals at the drive
Check on terminal 37/38 on drive for continuity
If continuity: unplug rope / rail connection in the carriage and
repeat measurement – if no more continuity, fault in wiring
to PCD or on the PCB itself
If you measured continuity, unplug wire 37 from its terminal,
measure again by pointing the instruments tip (37) onto the
drive wheel (as to exclude
the current pick up) and the other onto terminal 38.
If no more continuity, change current pick up.
If you still measure continuity, there must be a fault on the isolating parts of the rope connection
to the carriage or on the rope itself (slack rope; support rope end with metallic contact; …).
8.2 Check drive wheel
Refer to the service manual point 5.1
