      If auto calibration or single calibration fails on your RKI Instruments Measuring Instruments, check the calibration tubing for leaks or bad connections. Ensure the instrument is properly set up for calibration. Verify the calibration cylinder has enough fresh test sample. The charcoal filter might be saturated, causing a high CO reading, so change it. If the problem persists, the sensor(s) may need replacement.

      If the LCD on your RKI Instruments Measuring Instruments is blank, first, ensure the unit is turned on by pressing and briefly holding the POWER ENTER RESET button. If it still doesn't turn on, the alkaline batteries may need replacement, or the Ni-MH batteries may need recharging. Replace the batteries or recharge them accordingly.

      If your RKI Instruments Measuring Instruments indicates a flow failure, inspect the probe tube for obstructions. Also, check the hydrophobic filter disk in the probe; if it's dirty, replace it. Inspect the sample hose for kinks or obstructions and replace if needed. Finally, inspect the internal hydrophobic filter and replace if it is dirty.

      If your RKI Instruments Measuring Instruments displays “SYSTEM FAIL 12” during startup, a memory error has occurred. Press and hold the RANGE ? SHIFT button, then press the DISPLAY ADJUST NO button and release both. The Enter Password Screen will appear. Enter the password, “1994”, to proceed to the Set Default Screen. Press and release the AIR ? YES button twice to restore the defaults.

      If your RKI Instruments Gas Detectors indicates flow failure, inspect the probe tube for obstructions, the hydrophobic filter disk in the probe for dirtiness (and replace if necessary), the sample hose for kinks or obstructions (and replace if necessary), and the internal hydrophobic filter for dirtiness (and replace if necessary). The cause of the flow failure may be a clogged probe tube, a dirty hydrophobic filter disk, a kinked sample hose or a malfunctioning pump.

This error indicates that a memory error has occurred.
